Locals:
Driving from Lusaka to Lukulu is +/- 600km and will take you a good 9 hours to get there. Sections of the road are tough going with potholes and corrugations slowing you down. The drive through the Kafue National Park is most enjoyable and there is much game to be spotted.
Should you want to break your trip, there are lodges in the park where you could stay for a night or two. There is also the Farmers Rendezvous Lodge in Kaoma that offers basic, satisfactory rooms, some with aircon. The food is adequate, drinks are cold, staff friendly and accommodation reasonably priced. Obviously you can drive to the lodge in the drier season, or we will arrange to meet you in Lukulu and transfer you to the lodge by boat.
Foreigners:
We will arrange charter flights for you, to Lukulu, from where you need to be collected.
Ie : Lanseria Airport, Johannesburg, South Africa
Charles Prince or Robert Gabriel Mugabe Airport, Harare
Victoria Falls International Airport Zimbabwe
Victoria Falls Livingstone Airport Zambia
Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, Lusaka
You will be ferried to the lodge and back by boat.
VISAS
It is recommended to visit the Zambia Department of Immigration site for your visa requirements. It provides a comprehensive list of countries that are exempt of a visa, those that can purchase a visa on arrival and those that need to obtain a visa before travelling.
